Smartphone that wants the following review gadget Sony Xperia Z, smartphones that have IP55 and IP57 military endurance certificates, namely resistance to water and dust. This device was first introduced globally at the CES 2013 event in Las Vegas in early 2013.

Sony Xperia Z has been sold in Indonesia since mid-March 2013 and is priced at IDR 7,500,000. Sony Xperia Z is one of the premium 5-inch smartphones that is quite a favorite of premium smartphone users in Indonesia.

Gadgetan will give a little review and hands on from Sony's flagship device in the first quarter of 2013 to Gadgetan readers. Check out the Gadget description below:

1. Specifications

Sony Xperia Z has a 5 inch screen with 1080 x 1920 p resolution, runs with a quad core 1.5 GHz Snapdragon S4 Pro, based on Android Jelly Bean, 2GB RAM, 16GB internal memory which can be expanded with SSD memory card, 13 MP camera Exmor RS technology, 2MP front camera, 2,330 mAh battery, NFC and 4G LTE connectivity.

2. Hands On

Front View of the Sony Xperia Z

The front view of the Xperia Z is almost the same as other Android devices from Sony. Comes with Android OS 4.1.2 Jelly Bean and a blend of UI from Sony to make this device run well. You can also see the three main navigation buttons at the bottom and a 2MP front camera at the top of the device's screen.

Xperia Z Rear View

SonyXperiaZ_22 On the back of the device, you can see there is a 13MP camera with a flash pinned on the screen. Until now, a 13MP camera is still the largest resolution embedded in a smartphone.

Xperia Z Top View

SonyXperiaZ_19 At the top of the device, there is a port for the headset, you have to open a plastic cover with the headset logo to find the port. The plastic cover can be protective from dust, but it is quite troublesome when you have to open the cover every time you want to listen to a song.

Xperia Z Left View

SonyXperiaZ_21 On the left side of your Xperia Z device you can see 2 slots for the charger and SSD memory card. In addition, there are 2 dock connectors to fit into the docking accessories.

Both of these slots also have plastic protectors which in our opinion are quite annoying, maybe not all slots need protection, except for slots for memory cards.

Xperia Z Right View

SonyXperiaZ_18 On the right side of the Xperia Z device, you can see the volume button and the Power button. The slot for the SIM card is also on the right side of the device, precisely to the right of the power button.

3. Software

OS and User Interface

Sony Xperia Z device comes with Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean operating system support and gets a user interface like Android in general. To display icons and widgets everything is almost the same as the characteristics of other Android devices.

4. Features

A. Camera

SonyXperiaZ_7

One of the most highlighted by the Xperia Z camera is the 13MP camera with Exmor RS sensor support embedded in this device. There is an interesting feature, namely Superior Auto, where you do not need to be confused looking for a good photo spot. Simply point the lens at an object, the camera will automatically take pictures of the object with the best results.

In addition, the Xperia Z camera is also capable of capturing 999 images in 1 minute. You only need to hold the capture button for 1 minute in burst shot mode then the picture will be taken as much as 999 times.

B. Media

Just like other smartphone devices from Sony, the media from Xperia Z also received entertainment support from the Sony Entertainment Network.

C. FM Radio

Now this is often forgotten by premium smartphones, a radio feature that is still quite loved by young Indonesians. The radio feature on this phone makes you do not need to download additional applications to enjoy radio entertainment.

D. Waterproof and Dustproof

Xperia Z

This feature is highlighted when selling Xperia Z in the country. They display models that soak in a bathtub with Xperia Z embedded in it. This smartphone can stay alive for 30 minutes at a depth of 1 meter of water.

5. Browser

SonyXperiaZ_12

The browser that we use is the default browser of Xperia Z. A large 5-inch screen makes you more comfortable in finding information on a website. HotRod 3G Plus internet support from XL makes this device able to browse smoothly and quickly.

6. Conclusion

SonyXperiaZ_16 Speaking of performance, the Xperia Z is actually on par with other premium Android devices like LG Optimus G Pro, Samsung Galaxy SIV and HTC One. But unfortunately talking about features, Xperia Z is still less creative with its rivals.

What we like about the Xperia Z HD screen with BRAVIA support makes this screen look better than a smartphone screen with super AMOLED support. In addition, high-tech cameras, long-lasting batteries and fast performance are the advantages of this device.

The weakness of the Xperia Z is the lack of features for fellow Xperia Z users. The price that is too expensive also makes this good device difficult to be absorbed by the smartphone lovers community who already prefer Samsung and HTC, when considering premium smartphones.

However, for those of you who anti mainstream (do not want to talk), Xperia Z seems very good and classy for you. In addition, the product manufacturer from Japan also has an image of durability and good quality.
